RLOGIN and IP host node unreachable?

» close window

The Question is:

I am trying to set up RLOGIN to connect to another machine. My VMS machine is
running UCX. I get an error every time I try to connect(even to myself). The
error is: %RLOGIN-E-INETERROR, Internet interface error
-RLOGIN-I-INETCALL, connect()
-SYSTEM-F-UNREACHABLE, remote node is not currently reachable

The machine is reachable. I think I have not got RLOGIN setup properly.

Please help...

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard will assume that the local and the remote systems
are running TCP/IP Services V5.0A ECO1 (or later).

The remote system does not appear to be reachable via IP.

Please contact the Compaq Customer Support Center, and expect to be
asked for details -- such as the following:

    the exact RLOGIN command(s) used.
    TCPIP SHOW INTERFACE
    TCPIP SHOW PROXY
    TCPIP SHOW HOST
    TCPIP SHOW SERVICE RLOGIN/FULL

Also details of the remote system.
