The Question is:
Logged onto system. Did a "dir" on a temp disk. Error message displayed,
"network partner aborted logical link". Was then knocked off system and could
not log back in. As soon as I hit return after username: Telnet connection
would disconnect. Had to re
boot system.

This sequence generally implies that an executive-mode bugcheck has
occured, or a severe problem with the particular IP network stack that
is installed. Please apply the current relevent and mandatory ECO kits
for this platform and this OpenVMS Alpha release and for the particular
IP package (TCP/IP Services V4.2 with the current ECO applied would be
the choice for OpenVMS Alpha V6.2), please check the error log for any
relevent information logged there (device errors, system or CPU or
memory errors, and any file system errors), and then please then check
with the customer support center for assistance.
