The question is somewhat confusing... The severity level and thresholds
are set for each kind of event, and DECamds provides default values.
If you are seeing "too many" occurances of a particular event, then the
threshold value for that particular event might be too low in the local
environment. Alteration of the severity value won't change the frequency
by which the event is displayed, only how it is treated when the event
occurs. You will want to look at the specific events displayed, and
decide what thresholds are interesting in your particular environment.
