The Question is:
We have an Alpha 1200 running OpenVMS 7.1-1h2 with with TCP/IP Services for
OpenVMS Alpha Version V4.1. Is there a document available outlining the
steps necessary to:
1)Implement SMTP mail to allow us to pass mail between this machine and our
Exchange server;
2)Implement an NFS server to allow us to use an NFS gateway product to let
our Windows 95/NT clients access data on this VMS machine
The Answer is :
The available TCP/IP Services documentation includes detailed answers
to both of your questions as far as the necessary OpenVMS and TCP/IP
configuration is concerned -- as for the steps needed on the Microsoft
platform(s), you have reached the wrong Wizard.
The OpenVMS Wizard would also encourage an upgrade to (at least) OpenVMS
Alpha V7.1-2 or (better) to V7.2-1, and to TCP/IP Services V5.0A.
The TCP/IP Services product documentation is available at the OpenVMS
documentation web site, on the documentation CD-ROM, and in hardcopy.
(See the FAQ for pointers to the OpenVMS documentation web site.)
